A Levite. Him and his descendants were inhabitants of Jerusalem after the exile. He was "of the children of Hodaviah": See Ezr 2:40 and see Jeshua. See Ezr 3:9; Neh 7:43; Neh 9:4-5; Neh 10:9. He sealed the covenant to keep God's Laws in the times of Nehemiah. See Neh 12:8: "went up with Zerubbabel ..., and Jeshua" to Jerusalem after the exile. |
